Falcomm Selects Midtown for First Headquarters
Midtown has landed the headquarters of a semiconductor technology startup.
Falcomm, which was founded in 2021 out of Georgia Tech, has signed a lease for 3,120 square feet of space at Midtown’s 1375 Peachtree. The buildout will begin this summer, according to an announcement from Falcomm.
This is the company’s first office space outside of a coworking suite. Falcomm currently offices at the WeWork location in Colony Square.
Growth Backed by Funding and Vision
Falcomm provides microchip technology for the wireless communication markets. Led by Edgar Garay, the company raised $4 million last year in a funding round led by early-stage cyber and national security venture capital firm Squadra Ventures. In a TechCrunch article from 2023, Garay said the firm plans on using some of this funding proceeds to hire talent.
1375 Peachtree is a 7-story office tower just off of 17th Street. It has seen renovations in recent years. Previous landlord The Dilweg Cos. poured $10 million into the building in 2019 to add rooftop space facing Peachtree Street, additional retail in the lobby and indoor bike storage, along with other amenities. Now, current landlord FullG Capital has announced a multimillion dollar plan to add onsite food options.
A Flexible Space for Startup Expansion
The advantage for Falcomm in establishing their footprint in this building: the space could accommodate Falcomm’s equipment and machinery, and the landlord could accommodate flexibility in its lease structure.
“As a growing startup, our team is infused with passion and energy, so we looked for an office that reflects that same excitement and vibrancy,” said Garay in a written statement.
Last year, Bento Box Entertainment — the animation studio behind “Bob’s Burgers” — signed a 11,000-square-foot lease at 1375 Peachtree.
Matt Parisi, then of Transwestern, represented the tenant. Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord.
